Ros Abercrombie
ROS ABERCROMBIE shares her experiences of the complex and iterative nature of festivals and the opportunities they provide. Through an in-depth auto ethnographic analysis she argues that an investigation into the endogenous and exogenous notion of place is central in understanding how influences can both inform and challenge the design and experience of a festival.

ROS ABERCROMBIE specialises in event conception and direction and is committed to the concepts of collaboration as vital to building festivals that are significant forums for new work, culture and ideas. In much of her work her programs bring together emerging, established and community artists to stimulate dialogue and challenge audiences in accessible public environments.
Her recent projects include Shepparton Festival Director, Program Director Moomba Festival, Creative Director Illuminate, and Program Director for New Year’s Eve Melbourne. A keen facilitator of knowledge Ros has lectured at Melbourne University – Arts Management for several years.
Ros’s qualifications include a Postgraduate Diploma Business in Event Management, BA Hons Social Anthropology (SOAS) and relevant industry certificates.
